Contacts won't sync with Hyundai Santa Fe Radio over bluetooth JUMP TO SOLUTION. I should note that the call history does sync, just not my contacts. I did tap to approve the contact download on the S9. I also tried completely removing the phone from the radio and re-adding several times and it still isn't working. Same problem here on.

CarComplaints.com Notes: We're not used to seeing any major problems with Hyundai, which makes the early signs of trouble with the 2013 Elantra very surprising, in a bad way.
Early trends show problems with the steering wandering / pulling to one side along with premature tire wear. Elantra owners have tried sensor adjustments, wheel alignments, even replacing axles, most with no luck. Hyundai has made vehicle buybacks through arbitration, but that rarely works out well financially for owners in the end.
Also there is a pattern of complaints about the 2013 Elantra brakes grinding at very low mileage. It seems there was a bad batch of OEM pads & rotors, but so far Hyundai is not doing a recall. Instead Hyundai issued a TSB & dealers have been replacing pads & rotors on a per-complaint basis.
The final straw is that for several years in a row, Elantra owners report significantly lower gas mileage than the EPA estimates, & there's a small trend of engine problems.

Issues with Bluetooth. Taken to dealership twice and they had to use a bypass to get the updates to work correctly.

I have the bluetooth and my phone synced. However, it takes at least 5 - 10 minutes into driving until the bluetooth will actually work. In the meantime, it flips back and forth, rendering any normal conversation kaput. I have tried re-syncing it - 5 or 6 times sometimes - and it continues to do it. Once I can get it to work, if it's a long conversation, the bluetooth decides it's tired and hangs up the call altogether.

NOTE:
If the phone is paired with two or more vehicles of the same model, some phones may not handle Bluetooth® devices of that name correctly. In this case, you may need to change the name displayed on your phone. For example, if the vehicles' name is HMC CAR, you may need to change the name displayed on you phone from HMC_CAR to JOHNS_CAR or HMC CAR_1 to avoid ambiguity. Refer to your phone User’s Guide, or contact your cellular carrier or phone manufacturer for instructions.
